Choose which scenes accept dropped content
Control where dragged media lands when scenes are layered inside Preview.
Before you start
Open the intended collection and check the result before using it in a live show.
Where to find it
Open the intended Scene Settings > Accept Drop.
Use it
- Enable Accept Drop on scenes that should receive dropped content.
- Disable it on nested scenes that should let drops pass through.
- Save the settings and drag a test item over the intended area.
- Check which scene received the new item.
Helpful information
Accept Drop is enabled by default. A nested scene with the option off is skipped when choosing a drop target; another eligible nested scene below it can receive the item. If no eligible nested target is hit, the main scene receives it only when its own Accept Drop is enabled. If no scene accepts it, the drop is rejected. Existing restrictions on source types still apply. Adding through the Sources panel remains available. This setting changes drop behavior, rather than visibility or the scene picture.
