How do I use floating panels instead of a docked workspace?
Panels should open separately with Output controls and Quick controls available.
Before you start
Finish or stop outputs before restarting.
Where to find it
File > Settings > Appearance > Use floating UI.
Steps
- Enable Use floating UI and choose Save.
- Restart when safe.
- Use the launcher logo menus to open panels.
- Move/resize and group panels in the same workspace, then Save Workspace.
Check the result
Panels should open separately with Output controls and Quick controls available.
Helpful information
Floating and docked arrangements are saved separately. Closing a tool hides it; the launcher Close exits MCast.
If something is wrong
Use the View menus to reopen tools; reset only when you want the default arrangement.
