Why can’t I move or unlock a source in my duplicated scene?

Check whether the placement follows its original scene.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and prepare sample content for a rehearsal. Confirm the controls are available in your installed version.

Where to find it

Duplicate Scene Settings > Sync common source transforms.

Steps

  1. Open the duplicate’s Scene Settings and review Sync and its original name.
  2. If you want the linked geometry, edit the common placement in the original.
  3. For independent editing, disable Sync and Save.
  4. Check the source’s ordinary lock and edit mode, then move it.

Check the result

The placement follows the original or becomes independently editable as intended.

Helpful information

A linked placement’s enclosing group can also be locked against indirect movement. Visibility and duplicate-only placements are separate. Turning Sync off keeps the latest values.

If something is wrong

If Sync is absent or off, check the ordinary lock, Normal editing mode and source/scene bounds before changing other settings.
