Clone a scene and keep its picture live
Create another scene that follows the original picture and can have its own visual filters.
Before you start
Open the intended collection and rehearse before changing a live production. Controls depend on your installed version and selection.
Where to find it
Scenes > right-click a scene > Clone; Sources > Add > Scene > Clone.
Use it
- Select the original scene and choose Clone.
- Enter a distinct name and confirm.
- Select the new scene and inspect its picture.
- Add visual filters to the clone when you want a different treatment.
- Edit the original and compare both scenes before using them live.
Helpful information
A clone follows changes to the original scene’s content and arrangement. Duplicate creates a separate scene arrangement; reused sources can still share source settings. Use Clone when the whole original picture should stay linked. The clone can have its own visual filter chain.
New clones start with ★ and duplicates with # in their names. Renaming keeps the operation mark; older scenes are not automatically marked. Do not remove the original scene when a clone still needs it. Clones cannot create circular scene references. Some protected or hidden scenes are unavailable.
In the Scene source catalog, Select adds the existing scene directly; Clone creates a live clone and adds it to the destination. Check the destination scene before confirming.
