How do I reuse a source in another scene?

Follow this workflow to reuse a source in another scene.

Before you start

Decide whether the scenes should share the same source.

Where to find it

Sources panel.

Steps

  1. Open the target scene.
  2. Choose Add in Sources.
  3. Search or choose the source type.
  4. Enter a name and choose New, or select an existing source and choose Select.
  5. Configure its properties.
  6. Choose whether Make source visible is enabled.
  7. Check Preview.

Check the result

Check the source in both scenes after the assignment.

Helpful information

Select reuses the same source. Duplicate creates a separate source. Paste (Reference) reuses a copied source; Paste (Duplicate) creates an independent copy. Source cards offer Properties, Trigger, Lock/Unlock, Show/Hide, and supported audio or playback buttons. Right-click for filters, grouping, order, transforms, projection, screenshots, and interaction. Delete All in Create Source removes unused sources; Delete is available only for a source not used anywhere. List color is an organizer, not an image effect.

If something is wrong

If changes affect another scene, check whether the source is shared before editing its properties.
