How do I keep a duplicated scene’s source positions synchronized?

Follow common source geometry from the original.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and prepare sample content for a rehearsal. Confirm the controls are available in your installed version.

Where to find it

Duplicate Scene Settings > Sync common source transforms.

Steps

  1. Duplicate the scene and open the duplicate’s settings.
  2. Review the original scene name and enable Sync common source transforms.
  3. Save, then move or crop a common placement in the original.
  4. Check the duplicate and its layouts; disable Sync before editing those linked transforms.

Check the result

Common placements follow the original; duplicate-only items remain independent.

Helpful information

Sync is off by default. It copies geometry, not visibility, order, effects or source membership. Disabling retains the latest geometry.

If something is wrong

Linked transform controls and enclosing-group movement can be locked intentionally. A scene without a recorded duplicate origin does not offer this option.
