Media, text & generated visuals
Find media with File Browser
Browse folders, keep favorites and add selected media to the intended scene or content panel.
Before you start
Open the intended collection and layout. Rehearse changes before using them during a live production.
Where to find it
View > Docks > File Browser or View > Window > File Browser.
Use it
- Use Choose folder, enter a Folder path and choose Open folder, or select a Location/Favorite/Recent folder.
- Use Back or Parent folder to navigate; double-click a folder to open it.
- Search this folder and choose ordering by Name, Size or Date modified. Use Descending or Hidden items as needed.
- Move Thumbnail size to zero for Details, or increase it for larger thumbnails.
- Select supported files and choose Add to current scene, or use the context menu to choose a named scene.
- In Normal, use the explicit Add to Content, Background, Video Clips, Sound, Music or named asset destination when offered.
- Check the resulting source and its picture/sound before using it.
Favorites, pages and refresh
The star action adds or removes the current folder as a favorite. Locations, Favorites and Recent folders are navigation shortcuts. Search applies to the current folder. Previous/Next page moves through large listings; it does not change folder. Refresh updates the list after files change. The most recent accessible folder can reopen next time.
Drag to the right place
Drag selected files into the intended gallery or canvas area. Canvas drops can target a content or nested area under the pointer; a gallery drop chooses that gallery. Confirm the target scene and imported source type. An unsupported file or an unavailable folder can produce an error; use a supported media file and browse to an accessible location.
Adding media to a show does not move the original file. Keep required source files available while using the collection.
