How do I use MCast Studio as a camera in another app?

Follow this workflow to use MCast Studio as a camera in another app.

Before you start

Open the receiving app and identify the picture you want it to receive.

Where to find it

Virtual Cameras dock.

Steps

  1. Open Virtual Cameras.
  2. Open the camera settings.
  3. Choose Output Type.
  4. Select the scene/source when needed.
  5. Save.
  6. Choose Start.
  7. In the receiving application, choose that MCast camera.
  8. Check that the intended picture is visible.

Check the result

Select the started MCast camera in the receiving app and check its picture.

Helpful information

Feeds include Program, Preview, Scene, Source, and Replay Channel A/B where available. Require confirmation on stop protects an active camera. On Windows, Start can offer camera repair if readiness checks require it; decline or close to cancel repair. Start succeeds only after preparation is verified. Camera video selection in another app is separate from that app microphone/audio selection.

If something is wrong

Check camera state and selected feed. Configure the receiving app’s microphone separately; selecting a virtual camera supplies its picture.
