Create an External Output Profile

Deliver a layout picture to a monitor, network receiver, or supported hardware output.

Before you start

Open the collection and layout you intend to use. Prepare the devices, storage, or receiving service required by this workflow.

Where to find it

Layout Output > External Output Profile.

Set it up

  1. Choose New and enter External Output Name.
  2. Choose Output Type.
  3. Choose Output Feed and its target where needed.
  4. Configure the controls under Output Type Settings for that type.
  5. Choose render settings compatible with the receiver.
  6. Open Audio Track and assign the sound.
  7. Choose Save.
  8. Attach the profile through External Destination.
  9. Start the attached output and check its actual receiver.

Available output types

External output types explains Monitor, SRT, RIST, UDP MPEG-TS, TCP MPEG-TS, RTP MPEG-TS, NDI, OMT, and DeckLink. Only the settings relevant to the selected type are shown.

Shared settings

Output Feed selects the picture. Priority (0-100) sets its output priority. Render Settings Source selects layout settings, a saved render profile, or custom presets. Audio Track supplies the sound independently of the picture.

Stop and detach

Stop the destination to end delivery. Removing its attachment from the layout is a separate operation; see Destinations.

If the receiver is blank

Check the selected feed, device/display or network receiver, address/ports, and compatible video format. Finding a device in a list alone does not confirm frame delivery.
