Why can I view a supplied preset but not save changes to it?
Inspect built-in values and create a custom choice for edits.
Before you start
Identify the video/audio/codec/color/resize/render choice you need.
Where to find it
The preset’s View or Edit action.
Steps
- Open the supplied preset and read the view-only notice.
- Close it without changing the built-in values.
- Choose New for a custom preset, or direct fields in a supported section.
- Save and review the parent chooser’s selection before saving the output.
Check the result
Your custom entry is editable while the supplied preset remains available.
Helpful information
A nested New/Save selects the new entry; Cancel retains the earlier choice. Built-in inspection disables fields and does not offer Save.
If something is wrong
Check whether you opened a built-in or custom item and whether the current operation is busy.
