Create a scheduled live event without going live

Create an event for a future time on a supported connected account, then start streaming deliberately.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and layout. Rehearse changes before using them during a live production.

Where to find it

Broadcast event Create New, when Schedule live event is offered.

Use it

  1. Select the intended connected account and output profile.
  2. Choose Create New and review its title, description, audience and offered metadata.
  3. Enable Schedule live event and enter Date and time (UTC).
  4. Choose the scheduling action and confirm the new event in the provider account.
  5. At show time, select that event, review the attached layout destinations and choose Start Broadcast.
  6. Verify the receiving platform’s picture and sound before telling viewers the show is live.

Scheduling is separate from streaming

Creating the scheduled event does not start the encoder or begin delivery. You still need to start the broadcast explicitly. Convert your intended local time to UTC before entering the date/time, and check the scheduled time on the receiving platform.

The option is shown only for supported event-based accounts. A stream-key destination or another provider may have different scheduling steps on its own website. A successfully created event is not a completed live broadcast. Review each destination in a multi-destination show; offered fields are provider-specific.
