How do I keep or replace a saved stream key?

Edit a manual broadcast connection without mistaking an empty key field for a missing saved key.

Before you start

Use the intended destination and obtain a current key from its provider only when replacing it.

Steps

Open the intended profile/destination and check the provider/account details.
If the saved-secret explanation is shown and you want to retain that key, leave its blank field unchanged.
To replace it, paste the new key into the protected field and save deliberately.
Reopen to check the saved-secret explanation, then test the destination and receiving platform.

Check the result

An unchanged blank field retains the configured key; entering a new key replaces it.

Helpful information

A reopened protected field can be empty even when a key is saved. A blank unchanged field is not a request to clear that key. Connected accounts use their account controls instead of a manual stream key.

If something is wrong

Check the correct destination, provider and saved-secret explanation. Avoid showing keys in screenshots or posting them in chat; reissue a key at the provider if it was exposed.
