How do I record multiple audio tracks in one file?
Follow this workflow to record multiple audio tracks in one file.
Before you start
Plan each track and select a recording format/output combination that supports multiple audio tracks. Enable the buses you intend to use.
Where to find it
Output profile editor > Audio Track.
Steps
- Edit a Recording Output Profile, enable Record audio, and choose the output folder and a compatible multi-track format.
- Open Audio Track and use Add Track for each required track within the output’s supported count.
- Give each track a clear name, such as Full Mix, Microphones, or Music.
- Use Assign Input on each track to choose Master, a different enabled bus, or the required input.
- Set Delay (ms) only if that track needs additional delay; supported values are whole numbers from 0 to 5000.
- Keep ISO recording on disabled if you want the normal multi-track file without extra isolated files.
- Save and attach the recording profile.
- Record a short sample, stop, and inspect all tracks in a compatible editor.
Check the result
Open a finished sample in an editor or player that can select individual audio tracks. Listen to each track separately; ordinary playback may play only one track.
Helpful information
Multiple audio tracks allow later sound selection and editing. They do not automatically create separate files or separate camera recordings. Use ISO or participant recording settings for their respective separate-file workflows.
If something is wrong
If Add Track is unavailable, check the selected output and format capabilities. If tracks contain the same mix, check Assign Input on each track and bus sends.
