How do I prevent a trigger firing repeatedly?

The trigger follows the selected cooldown interval.

Before you start

Open the intended collection/layout and prepare a safe rehearsal. Have the device, media or receiving service required by the task available.

Where to find it

See Trigger delays, cooldown and inactive cancellation for the exact controls and navigation.

Steps

  1. Open the intended trigger and inspect its event.
  2. Set Cooldown (ms) to the required non-negative interval.
  3. Check Enabled and the action list, then save the edit.
  4. Repeat the real event during a rehearsal and check the spacing.

Check the result

The trigger follows the selected cooldown interval.

Helpful information

1000 ms is one second. Cooldown is separate from the initial Start Delay.

If something is wrong

Check for another enabled rule performing the same action.
