Automation & remote control

How do I run an action when a video finishes?

The action follows natural playback completion.

Before you start

Open the intended collection/layout and prepare a safe rehearsal. Have the device, media or receiving service required by the task available.

Where to find it

See Use scene and source triggers for the exact controls and navigation.

Steps

  1. Choose a playback-capable source and turn looping off.
  2. Open its trigger editor and select Playback Completed.
  3. Add the intended action and target through Manage Actions.
  4. Enable the rule and let a rehearsal clip finish naturally.

Check the result

The action follows natural playback completion.

Helpful information

Manual Stop uses Playback Stopped; it is a different event. Playback Remaining also needs looping off.

If something is wrong

Confirm the event is offered by that source and another rule is not changing playback first.
