How do I mute or monitor the guests assigned to a grid?

Use the grid’s separate show-audio and operator-listening actions.

Before you start

Prepare guest/host audio and the guest monitoring output.

The Dynamic Camera Grid card’s Mute and Monitoring controls.

Steps

Identify the participants assigned to the grid.
Use Mute for the grid group’s show-audio contribution.
Use Monitoring for operator listening through the guest monitor output.
Check each participant’s own microphone/speaker choices and other active grid uses.

Check the result

The assigned participants follow the intended group controls.

Helpful information

A grid is not another mixer input. Its monitoring does not use the ordinary source-channel assignment menu. Another active grid using the same participant can still require that participant’s audio.

If something is wrong

Check individual participant mute, the guest monitor device, active grid assignments and the actual output mix.
