How do I fade audio when changing scenes?

Rehearse audio entering and leaving with your transition.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and prepare sample content for a rehearsal. Confirm the controls are available in your installed version.

Where to find it

Audio Mixer panel menu and eligible input Fade menu.

Steps

  1. Enable the desired Use Fade In / Use Fade Out panel defaults.
  2. Open the input’s Fade menu and review its Use and Exclude choices.
  3. For a continuous microphone or other input, apply the appropriate Exclude choice when needed.
  4. Transition between two test scenes and listen to the output mix.

Check the result

Entering/leaving inputs follow the configured fade; a shared input in both scenes stays continuous.

Helpful information

Exclude overrides the panel default and input opt-in. A disabled Use choice may already be enabled by the panel default. Fade is separate from mute and routing.

If something is wrong

Confirm the input is eligible, the scene actually changes and sound is routed to the output you are checking.
