How do I use audio buses?
Open File > Options > Audio Buses. Select a bus and choose Edit. Watch the chosen bus meter and listen through a configured monitor route. Make a short output sample to verify the bus assigned to the recording or broadcast.
How do I monitor audio through headphones?
Open File > Options > Audio Monitor Channels. Select a channel, choose Edit, and set Name, Channel No., and Output Device. Speak or play a sample and listen through the selected device. Check the output recording separately, because monitoring and recording can use different routes.
How do I add a microphone?
Open the scene that will contain the source. Choose Add in Sources. Speak and confirm the meter, then record and listen to a short sample.
How do I capture computer playback audio?
Open the scene that will contain the source. Choose Add in Sources. Play a sample and check the meter and finished output sound.
How do I capture sound from one application?
Open the scene that will contain the source. Choose Add in Sources. Check that the selected application supplies the intended audio.
How do I fix audio that arrives before the picture?
Open properties for the intended mixer input. Use Channel layout to choose the supported input layout. Record a short sample and compare the sound with the visible cue.
How do I clean up or adjust microphone sound?
Open the input Filters. Choose Add MCast Filter for a built-in effect. Compare enabled and bypassed results without clipping.
Why do meters move but the broadcast or recording is silent?
Find the intended input in Audio Mixer and confirm its meter moves when the source makes sound. Check input mute and volume. Unhide the strip if needed; Hide only changes mixer presentation. Verify a sample at the actual output destination.
