Audio & monitoring

Mute a card or change its monitoring

Use separate controls for sound in the show and sound at the operator’s listening device.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and check the result before using it during a production. Controls depend on the installed version and current selection.

Where to find it

The audio controls on a supported source, Content, Background or asset card.

Use it

  1. Choose the intended card and inspect its Mute and Monitoring actions.
  2. Use Mute to change its sound contribution; use Monitoring for local listening.
  3. For an ordinary source, review its assigned monitor channels when offered.
  4. Check the actual recording/broadcast mix separately from what you hear in headphones.

Helpful information

A Dynamic Camera Grid controls its assigned guest/host audio as a group. It does not create another microphone or an extra mixer input. Grid monitoring uses the guest monitoring output and does not offer the ordinary source-channel assignment menu. Individual participant microphone/speaker choices still apply.

If a participant is used by more than one active grid, another active use can still require that participant’s audio. Check every live use before assuming a group toggle silences the participant everywhere. Unrelated guests are not changed. Wait for a pending audio action to finish before repeating it.
