Why does an overlay appear twice during a transition?

Check whether the same graphic is present in the scene and in an overlay channel.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and prepare sample content for a rehearsal. Confirm the controls are available in your installed version.

Where to find it

Scene Sources and Overlay / Underlay channel assignments.

Steps

  1. Inspect the outgoing and incoming scenes.
  2. Look for the same image or nested graphic scene already placed inside either one.
  3. Check whether an overlay channel also displays that graphic.
  4. Hide the unwanted scene occurrence with its eye control, then rehearse the transition.

Check the result

Only the intended graphic remains in the final composition.

Helpful information

A scene’s content and a channel assignment can both be visible. Hiding the unwanted placement preserves the reusable source; deleting it can affect other uses.

If something is wrong

Check both scenes and channel exclusions. Avoid removing a shared image merely to correct one placement.
