How do I customize a ready-made headline animation?

Change the animation and text sizing of a built-in headline with the regular designer controls.

Before you start

Choose a headline design and duplicate it for a separate custom variation.

Where to find it

Tools > Motion Template Designer.

Steps

Open the duplicated headline template.
Select the animation event and target, then adjust, disable or remove the animation you want to change.
Review the Fit to Text effect, padding and alignment when editing responsive text sizing.
Preview short, long and multiline text, then save and test it with the source.

Check the result

The graphic uses your edited animation and remains readable as its text changes.

Helpful information

Built-in headline animations and effects are editable. Entry, exit and data-change animations can affect different elements. Auto-width designs adapt width; fixed-width compact designs wrap and adapt height.

If something is wrong

Check the target, event and enabled state. Preserve the sizing effect if you still want text-driven dimensions.
