Choose and edit the Normal background

Build a reusable background from solid colors, gradients, images or video, and switch it with its cards.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and layout. Rehearse changes before using them during a live production.

Where to find it

Media > Background in Normal.

Use it

  1. Choose Add background, then Add Solid, Add Gradient, Add Image or Add Video.
  2. Choose a card and use Show or hide source to display it.
  3. Open its edit/properties action to change the picture or file.
  4. Choose Edit Transform to move, resize or crop the selected background in the canvas.
  5. Use the card’s Done check to return to the selected scene; use Cancel to cancel the active transform edit.
  6. Reorder cards with Move background up/down and check the composition.

Editing the intended item

During a background transform edit, the canvas shows the background being edited. Finish the edit to return to the user scene. The canvas editing target is the chosen card; clicking elsewhere does not mean selecting another background. Source Properties changes and completed actions are separate from canceling a transform edit.

Remove carefully

Delete removes the selected background from the show. Hiding a card lets you stop displaying it without deleting it. Check all shots that use the shared background before removing it.
