How do I trim a video without changing the original?
Follow this workflow to trim a video without changing the original.
Before you start
Choose the source video and identify the range you want to keep.
Where to find it
Video Source properties > local preview and VIDEO TIMELINE.
Steps
- Choose the local File Path.
- Seek the preview to the beginning and choose Mark In, or drag the In handle.
- Seek to the end and choose Mark Out, or drag the Out handle.
- Enable Play only marked area to limit source playback to this range.
- Choose Full Range to restore the full-file marks when needed.
- Save the source settings.
Check the result
Play the selected range and inspect the new copy when exporting it.
