How do I apply effects to only one use of a source?

Isolate the selected placement’s visual effects.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and prepare sample content for a rehearsal. Confirm the controls are available in your installed version.

Where to find it

Scene source placement Filters > Solo.

Steps

  1. Select the exact placement and open visual Filters.
  2. Enable Solo and add the intended effects to its empty chain.
  3. Choose Current or Original Edges and inspect other uses of the source.
  4. Disable Solo to return to shared effects; enable it again to restore the retained local chain.

Check the result

Only this placement uses the independent effect chain.

Helpful information

A nested scene’s root effects are bypassed in Solo, while its child-source effects remain. Audio, group containers and definition-only editors do not offer Solo. This choice follows the placement across layouts.

If something is wrong

Check that you opened a placement, not only its shared source definition. Review Solo before copying or pasting effects.
