Why are some filter controls hidden or unavailable?

Choose the controlling mode before editing its dependent properties.

Open the intended filter and expand its properties.

Where to find it

The filter’s mode/type dropdowns and controlling checkboxes.

Steps

Choose the effect mode, mask type or shape you need.
Turn off an automatic choice if the corresponding manual controls are needed.
Review the dependent controls now shown and edit the relevant values.
Switch back only if you intend to return to that mode.

Check the result

The controls relevant to the selected effect mode are available.

Helpful information

Hidden dependent values remain saved; switching modes can reveal them again. Independent controls remain available. Some actions are briefly unavailable while loading or applying an edit.

If something is wrong

Check controlling mode/automatic options, bypass and readiness before resetting or deleting the filter.
