Built-in filters
Choose whether effect padding changes picture dimensions
Make room for an outer stroke, glow or shadow without stretching content.
Before you start
Open the intended collection and rehearse before changing a live production. Controls depend on your installed version and selection.
Where to find it
Advanced Stroke, Glow or Shadow (the glow entry may be labeled MCast Grow Advance) effect Padding / Padding Amount / Maintain resolution.
Use it
- Select the intended advanced effect and an outer effect mode.
- Choose Auto or Manual Padding as offered.
- Set Padding Amount when Manual is selected.
- Leave Maintain resolution off to expand the picture while retaining content pixel size.
- Enable it to keep the filter input dimensions and fit padded content uniformly inside them.
- Check the final placement, crop, Edges choice and output scene.
Helpful information
Maintain resolution starts unchecked. Padding keeps the picture’s proportions; it does not stretch the content. With Maintain resolution on, the original content becomes smaller inside the fixed dimensions to leave room for the effect. With it off, the effect result expands. The main scene/output canvas does not grow.
Inner effects and disabled padding do not add this outer space. Explicit Expand controls keep their own behavior. Current/Original Edges affects the boundary being filtered, and Solo has its own placement edge choice. Check all three together when an outside effect appears cut off.
