How do I refresh the guest host camera or microphone list?

Find a newly connected device without changing unrelated sources.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and prepare sample content for a rehearsal. Confirm the controls are available in your installed version.

Where to find it

Guest host camera/audio editor; Audio Input / Audio Output source Properties.

Steps

Connect the device and grant the needed operating-system permission.
Open the relevant Properties or host-input editor.
Use the camera or audio refresh button and wait for discovery.
Review the selection, save and check the live picture or input meter.

Check the result

The intended device is selected and delivers picture or sound.

Helpful information

Refresh preserves the current selection where possible. Overlapping refresh actions are unavailable while discovery runs. A listed device is not proof of delivery.

If something is wrong

Check cable/access, another application holding the device and the relevant permission. Retry after the button becomes available.
