Refresh devices and wait for discovery
Choose an available camera, audio input, window or network source after its list finishes loading.
Before you start
Open the intended collection and check the result before using it during a production. Controls depend on the installed version and current selection.
Where to find it
The device/window list and its Refresh control in the relevant properties, setup or settings dialog.
Use it
- Connect or open the device/application and check its operating-system permission.
- Open its selection dialog and wait for discovery to finish.
- Use Refresh after a device change, then select the intended result.
- Check the preview/meter and Save when available.
Helpful information
Discovery and saving can make conflicting controls temporarily unavailable. Wait for the result instead of repeatedly refreshing. If an error is shown, correct access/connection and retry when controls are available. Canceling or closing an editor may wait for its current operation to finish safely.
A permission prompt can appear when you first use a protected capture feature. Use the displayed operating-system action, then Refresh. An audio option for Window Capture is available only when the selected window and system support it. A device appearing in a list does not prove that sound or picture is being delivered; test the intended source.
