How do I control a PTZ camera?

Follow this workflow to control a PTZ camera.

Before you start

Obtain the camera control address, protocol, and access details.

Where to find it

Sources > Add > PTZ.

Steps

Open the scene that will contain the source.
Choose Add in Sources.
Select PTZ in Create Source.
Enter a name and choose New.
Choose Device Type.
Enter camera name and connection details.
Set port/camera number and credentials as required.
Enter Preview URL.
Choose Test connection.
Use movement and zoom buttons.
Choose Save and Close (or OK where shown).
Check the source in Preview before taking it to Program.

Check the result

Test camera movement and verify the preview picture separately.

Helpful information

Move and Zoom set control speeds. Stop movement and Stop zoom end motion. Preview URL is the camera picture shown in this source. Page reload and frame-rate options affect the preview.

If something is wrong

If movement works but picture is blank, check Preview URL; if movement fails, check control connection details.
