Memory information and warning levels
Adjust the information thresholds used to report MCast memory use. These settings do not reserve memory or stop outputs.
Before you start
Open the intended collection and layout. Make changes during preparation and check a short rehearsal before using them in a live show.
Where to find it
File > Settings > System > Memory.
Set it up
- Read Current Memory Information before changing the policy.
- Keep Use default policy enabled for the normal information limit.
- To use a custom policy, disable it and choose the offered fixed or system-memory percentage limit.
- Set Warning %, High Use % and Critical % in increasing order.
- Choose Save and review the resulting information limit.
Default policy
The default information limit is the lower of 5 GB or 10% of system memory. It is a reporting reference, not an allocation guarantee.
Controls
| Control | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Fixed Limit (GB) | Selects a fixed reference size when using a custom policy. |
| Percent of System Memory | Selects a reference size based on available system memory. |
| Warning % / High Use % / Critical % | Defines the levels used for the memory status display. |
What the policy does
The displayed levels do not automatically free memory, slow sources or stop outputs. If memory use is high, review open media, previews and active work, and close items you do not need when safe.
Undo
Enable Use default policy and Save to return to the default reporting policy.
