General settings, language, tray and cache

Choose everyday application behavior and where automatically saved screenshots go.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and layout. Make changes during preparation and check a short rehearsal before using them in a live show.

Where to find it

File > Settings > Application > General.

Set it up

  1. Choose the application language and review the restart message.
  2. Set Screenshot destination with Browse.
  3. Review System Tray options and any restart marker.
  4. Choose the cache cleanup interval, or select Clear Now when you want to remove downloaded image copies.
  5. Review Don't ask for confirmation on exit before enabling it.
  6. Choose Save; restart only when your show and outputs can safely stop.

Language

A language change requires restart. With an output running, the choice is saved for the next start. Otherwise Restart Now applies it; Cancel keeps the current language. User-created names and selected values keep their own text.

Screenshots

Automatically saved screenshots use the layout name and current date/time. Select a folder you can open and write to. This setting is separate from recording folders.

Tray and exit

Options marked with an asterisk require restarting after Save. Skipping the ordinary exit confirmation and Show active outputs warning on exit are separate preferences; review the latter in Advanced. Exiting ends work in the application, so check active outputs first.

Downloaded image cache

Clean up every sets the interval in days. Clear Now removes downloaded image copies, including chat profile images; needed images download again. It is separate from source media, recordings and diagnostic log cleanup.

Updates and diagnostics

Microsoft Store manages Windows installation and application updates. Local diagnostics explains detail levels, retention and manual exports. Diagnostics sharing controls shown as disabled are not active.
