How do I install MCast Studio on Linux?

Install the official signed Flatpak and set up any separately required virtual-camera component.

Before you start

Check the Linux processor type, requirements and your distribution’s Flatpak setup.

Where to find it

Linux installation guide.

Steps

  1. Choose your distribution and follow the displayed Flatpak preparation instructions.
  2. Download the current MCast Flatpak and install it with the exact command shown for that download.
  3. Review the requested permissions and wait for installation to finish.
  4. Open MCast from your applications menu and complete sign-in and workspace setup.
  5. For virtual cameras, follow the optional camera-component steps and requirements in the same guide.

Check the result

MCast launches and the requested capture devices are available.

Helpful information

The normal installation verifies the signature included with the download. The optional Linux virtual-camera component is separate from the app install. Save your work and close MCast before installing an update. Read the 1.1.3 workspace notice when updating an earlier release.

If something is wrong

Use the guide’s troubleshooting and retain signature checks. If a download or component is unavailable, contact support for your distribution.
