MCast Edge Detection

Applies the edge detection visual effect.

Before you start

Select the intended collection or item before changing its settings.

Where to find it

Source right-click > Filters > Add Filter.

Use it

  1. Select the source and open Filters.
  2. Choose Add Filter.
  3. Search for MCast Edge Detection and add it.
  4. Adjust the controls below in the live preview.
  5. Compare with bypass enabled.
  6. Keep the effect only if the result suits the scene.

Controls and additional tasks

Reset returns defaults; disable bypasses without deletion. Filter order affects the picture.

Effect settings

SettingUse and limits
Expand LeftAdd space at the left edge for effect pixels outside the source. Default: 0; Range: 0–9999.
Expand RightAdd space at the right edge for effect pixels outside the source. Default: 0; Range: 0–9999.
Expand TopAdd space above the source for effect pixels outside its bounds. Default: 0; Range: 0–9999.
Expand BottomAdd space below the source for effect pixels outside its bounds. Default: 0; Range: 0–9999.
SensitivitySet sensitivity for this effect. Default: 0.05; Range: 0–1.
Invert EdgeEnable or disable invert edge. Default: false.
Edge Color XSet edge color x for this effect. Default: 1; Range: -1000000–1000000.
Edge Color YSet edge color y for this effect. Default: 1; Range: -1000000–1000000.
Edge Color ZSet edge color z for this effect. Default: 1; Range: -1000000–1000000.
Edge Color WSet edge color w for this effect. Default: 1; Range: -1000000–1000000.
Edge MultiplyEnable or disable edge multiply. Default: false.
Non Edge Color XSet non edge color x for this effect. Default: 0; Range: -1000000–1000000.
Non Edge Color YSet non edge color y for this effect. Default: 0; Range: -1000000–1000000.
Non Edge Color ZSet non edge color z for this effect. Default: 0; Range: -1000000–1000000.
Non Edge Color WSet non edge color w for this effect. Default: 0; Range: -1000000–1000000.
Non Edge MultiplyEnable or disable non edge multiply. Default: false.
Alpha ChannelEnable or disable alpha channel. Default: false.
Alpha levelSet alpha level for this effect. Default: 100; Range: 0–100.
Alpha InvertEnable or disable alpha invert. Default: false.

If something is wrong

If a required image/source is missing, select it in the corresponding file/source control. If the effect is clipped, review its expansion controls.

Stop or remove

Bypass the effect to retain settings. Select it and choose Delete to remove it.
