Dynamic Source Groups and visibility behavior

Group dynamic text, image and video sources so selecting content can show one member or all members of that group in a scene.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and add the dynamic sources you want to coordinate. Prepare sample content for a rehearsal.

Where to find it

File > Options > Dynamic Source Groups. Dynamic source Properties also provides the group selector and its add/edit controls.

Set it up

  1. Choose New, enter Group Name and select Behavior.
  2. Choose Save.
  3. In each intended dynamic source's Properties, select that same group and save.
  4. Open Dynamic Content and prepare the content used by those sources.
  5. Select sample content for one source and check which group members appear in the scene.
  6. Repeat with another member before using the group live.

Behavior choices

BehaviorResult when content is selected for a group member
NoneDoes not change other members' visibility automatically.
Show OneShows the selected member and hides other dynamic members of that group in the same scene.
Show AllShows the dynamic members of that group in the same scene.

Sources still need content and suitable placement. Showing all members does not automatically arrange them to avoid overlap.

Edit or remove

Select a group and choose Edit to review its name and behavior. Some default groups have a fixed name and cannot be removed. Delete is available for removable groups; review sources using a group before deleting it.

Source groups versus content-list groups

The Dynamic Source Group in source Properties coordinates dynamic sources and their visibility. New Group inside the Dynamic Content dock organizes content items in the list. Delete Group (keep items) applies to that list organization; it is not the same as deleting a Dynamic Source Group in Options.

If something is wrong

If selecting content unexpectedly hides another source, check whether both are in a Show One group. Use None when each member's visibility should remain independent. If nothing changes, check the active collection, exact group selection and whether the scene contains those dynamic sources.
