Excel data source

Supply Excel data to motion-template/live-data workflows.

Before you start

Open the collection and layout you intend to use. Prepare the devices, storage, or receiving service required by this workflow.

Where to find it

Tools > Data Sources Manager > Projects > Manage, then Data Source > Manage.

Set it up

  1. Create/select the intended project.
  2. Choose New and Excel.
  3. Enter Name.
  4. Use Browse to select the .xlsx workbook.
  5. Configure the options offered for this type.
  6. Choose Connect and review the discovered columns.
  7. Select columns with Use, All, or None.
  8. Set refresh/row movement and choose Save.

Type-specific options

Use first row as column names uses the first row as headings. Convert rows to columns changes the table orientation. Use Worksheet name (optional) to select the required workbook content.

Refresh and row movement

Refresh interval and Auto next interval default to five seconds. Turn Auto refresh off to stop automatic refresh; turn Auto next off to stop automatic row movement. Loop repeats row movement. Connect the source before selecting columns for the graphic.

Use the data

Choose this project/source/row in the Motion Template source and bind its exposed values to the selected columns. Check the displayed values before showing the graphic.
