Show images and video with Dynamic Media

Use one placed media box for changing image and video content.

Before you start

Open the intended collection and rehearse before changing a live production. Controls depend on your installed version and selection.

Where to find it

Sources > Add > Dynamic Media; Dynamic Content dock.

Use it

  1. Add Dynamic Media to the intended scene and name the source.
  2. Choose its Group, then Stretch, Fixed Point and Aspect Ratio.
  3. Set the box dimensions for the intended layout; Free Size permits independent height.
  4. Choose Content Transition when needed.
  5. Review the offered Image and Video settings and any template assignments.
  6. Save, then select an image or video item in the matching Dynamic Content group.
  7. Check each layout, playback sound and the result of clearing the selected content.

Helpful information

Dynamic Media accepts image and video content in the same source. Use Dynamic Text for changing text. The Image settings include unloading when not shown and alpha handling; Video settings control supported playback behavior. Availability depends on the selected source and content.

The placed box belongs to the layout you are editing. Check every output layout rather than assuming one layout’s box changes all of them. Source settings and template assignments can be shared. A Content Transition changes content inside this box; it is separate from a scene transition. Selecting or clearing content is also separate from hiding or deleting its source.
