Video Converter: quality, crop, trim, and subtitles

Choose how queued videos are encoded and apply edits to their converted copies.

Before you start

Open the collection and layout you intend to use. Prepare the devices, storage, or receiving service required by this workflow.

Where to find it

Tools > Video Converter > Output Settings, Conversion Options, and Edit tools.

Set it up

  1. Add the input files and choose the output folder.
  2. Choose the output preset and codec.
  3. Set quality/bitrate, size, and speed options.
  4. Set a crop or trim range only if required.
  5. Choose rotation/frame/subtitle options.
  6. Start conversion and review Status and Progress.

Encoding choices

Auto keeps the preset codec; choose another only when needed. Source keeps original size. Faster presets encode more quickly; slower presets can improve compression. Higher Video bitrate increases quality and file size. Lower CRF quality values increase quality; the displayed guidance suggests 18–23 for H.264/H.265. If a hardware encoder is unavailable, select an available encoder and validate again.

Container options

Faststart improves web playback. Copy streams avoids re-encoding when supported by the container. Deinterlace handles interlaced source footage.

Edits

Crop frame uses Position X / Y and Size W / H; leave position blank for no offset. Preset chips fill these values. Trim range defines the exported interval; a blank end means the remainder. Rotation uses 90, 180, or 270 degrees. Burn renders subtitle text into the picture; Copy retains a subtitle stream where supported. The original input file is not modified.
